The United States is not the only place the 2022 Ford Maverick has found popularity. In Brazil, those in search of a new small truck have been flocking to the Maverick, and that is for good reason. This compact pickup is both affordable and offers legitimate utility, which makes it ideal for shoppers who want the convenience of a bed but a comfortable ride as well. Apparently, buyers of Ford’s small truck in Brazil can opt for a list of Maverick accessories not yet available in the United States, if they come here at all. And that is fairly exciting for those who want to customize their truck.
What accessories does Ford make for the Maverick?
In Brazil, there is currently a list of nearly 20 different accessories not available to us here in the States. Accessories include things like running boards and different bed options to help increase the practicality of the 2022 Maverick. There is even an option to make the Maverick look more aggressive, with the addition of a satin black air intake on the hood.
According to Ford Authority, it is not clear whether or not these accessories will be sold in North America, but it would make sense if they did come. Americans love to modify their trucks, and with OEM accessories, that can be done with more confidence than looking to third parties.
Will Brazil’s Maverick accessories come to the United States?
It is still unclear whether or not Ford plans to bring Brazil’s accessories catalog to the States. But with how much 2022 Maverick owners are interested in modifying their trucks, it does make sense that the blue oval would make that decision. The aftermarket community is already starting to thrive, so Ford could be able to capitalize on that.
Typically OEM components are seen as more favorable than going with a third party, and that is because you will be buying something from the manufacturer that built the vehicle to begin with. That isn’t to say aftermarket components are bad because many times these companies offer things that auto manufacturers like Ford do not.
Can you buy the 2022 Ford Maverick?
Unfortunately, buying Ford’s small truck in the United States feels fairly impossible right now. Due to high sales numbers, supply has not kept up with demand, forcing Ford to place a temporary pause on 2022 Maverick customer orders.
Ford Maverick orders are set to open again in August, but those orders will likely be for the 2023 model year. If you really want to buy Ford’s compact pickup right now, the best way is to visit a dealership or shop the used market. But if you do so, you may face things like dealership markups which do ruin some of the Maverick’s value proposition.
By the time you get your small pickup truck, maybe Ford will have decided to offer some of Brazil’s available Maverick accessories in the States. If so, you will be able to customize your truck to your personal liking.
