The 2023 Corvette Z06 order books will open up on July 28th, but if you’re anxious to be first in line, you may have to compromise. Despite the company’s best effort in stockpiling certain parts and trying to get ahead of the curve earlier this year, supply chain bottlenecks unfortunately remain a mainstay in the auto industry. And as seen with the launch of the Corvette Stingray before it, the bottleneck in this case seems to stem from carbon fiber supply.
Per Corvette Blogger and their direct communication with Corvette Product Manager, Harlan Charles, the accessories listed below are going to be offered as “late availability.” The silver lining here is that they will be available, just not when they open the books.
The Parts
LT6 X-Brace
One of many parts featured on the Corvette Stingray we saw at SEMA last year.
Part Number: #84983921
Visible Carbon Fiber Rear Deck Spoiler
Reminiscent of the E-Ray spoiler spotted circling Nurburgring. Only found on the Z06 visualizer for the moment.
Visible Carbon Fiber Accessory Grille Inserts
This is another item we were teased with at SEMA last year. The same Carbon Fiber inserts for the Stingray ran $1,995. They will also be available in Carbon Flash (not really carbon fiber) for a presumed discounted price.
Carbon Fiber Engine Cover
This piece along with the engine lighting kit will both be late to the available accessory party.
Accessory Visible Carbon Fiber Mirrors
According to Corvette Blogger GM has gone as far as pulling parts for these from resellers for use in production. These were a $1,195 accessory on the SEMA Stingray we saw last year.
While the Z06 and carbon fiber seemingly go hand in hand, the delays will force you to wait your turn in line. The aftermarket on the other hand may have an opportunity to provide what anxious C8 Z06 owners want.
